Registration first

Give us the reg. We'll make sure we're talking about the right Transit.

Transits vary by age, engine, model and specification — and so do their service requirements. So we don't pretend one generic description fits every van.

Manufacturer schedule

When should my Transit be serviced?

There isn't one interval for every Transit. The right starting point is the servicing requirement for your particular van — and the registration and mileage help us establish what we're dealing with.

Working vans

A working Transit doesn't always have an easy life.

How the van is used is useful context when we look after it.

2.0 EcoBlue servicing

Servicing a 2.0 EcoBlue Transit?

On relevant EcoBlue engines the timing belt runs in engine oil. That's one reason the correct oil and proper maintenance matter — the oil used must meet the correct Ford specification for that particular vehicle.

Good servicing is part of looking after the van. It isn't a guarantee that the belt won't ever need attention.

04Paperwork for any previous replacement

A normal service isn't a full wet-belt inspection and can't tell you how much life the belt has left. If it's a question, ask us to check your Transit.

Not an EcoBlue? That's fine.

We service older Ford Transits too — the EcoBlue just gets extra space here because of the questions owners ask about it.

Local businesses

Looking after more than one Transit?

If you've got several working vans, talk to Phil about what you've got and when they're normally available. We can then discuss the servicing they need without pretending every van in the fleet is identical.

Phil’s advice

For the relevant wet-belt-equipped vehicles he works on, Phil’s preventative recommendation is to consider replacement at five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first.
